The Internet of Things (IoT) describes networked, physical and virtual objects. These include sensors, industrial machines, charging columns, GPS trackers or, in general, devices that can send and receive data. Business processes can be made more efficient through the real-time integration of data.

As a long-standing SAP partner, Fink IT-Solutions has been able to contribute its expertise in the design of SAP business processes in a wide range of projects. Our service portfolio ranges from basic training and initial proof of concepts to the development, implementation and support of Internet of Things solutions.

We advise and support you in the connection of different sensors with the help of the SAP Leonardo IoT Service. The sensors can be integrated directly via an MQTT or REST interface. For special industrial machines, a certified edge gateway is recommended, which also securely transmits protocols such as Modbus, SigFox or SNMP to the cloud. For long-range communication, the LoRaWAN transmission protocol is becoming increasingly important. Especially in the public sector, gas, water, electricity and infrastructure are increasingly being equipped with innovative sensors in order to discover savings and optimisation potential and implement smart city cases. Here, too, the SAP Leonardo platform can pave the way from the physical device to the cloud.

The data can then be presented in customisable, device-independent dashboards according to the SAP FIORI standard. The integrated development environment of the SAP Business Technology Platform provides numerous additional services, such as the fast in-memory database HANA or the Identity Authentication Service, to integrate your company-specific authorisation concept. For homogeneous IoT applications, SAP provides a predefined framework consisting of microservices, apps and UI templates with the SAP IoT Application Enablement Service.

We are also happy to visualise the data on wearables such as data glasses or smartwatches to increase the productivity of your employees. The applications can also display data from SAP on-premise systems (such as SAP ERP or S/4HANA), execute transactions and save them back to the SAP system. If necessary, the IoT applications can also be developed offline.
